Mental and Emotional Release (MER) Timeline Therapy is a clinically researched approach founded by Dr. Tad James in the 1980’s. MER enables the quick release of limiting beliefs and negative emotions such as anger, fear, sadness, grief, guilt, and shame. It also helps to provide insight on how past experiences have impacted a person’s current thoughts, behaviors, and communication. The treatment is based on the concept of an internal memory storage system and the techniques are best known for producing long-lasting change faster than the quickest form of traditional talk therapy. MER has several useful applications to include: releasing procrastination, depression, anxiety, phobias, limiting beliefs, and negative emotions. Many clients have also found the MER treatment helpful in successfully recovering from decades of emotional or verbal abuse, overcoming road rage, strengthening parental and romantic relationships, and sticking to goals like weight loss or increased earning potential.


The treatment begins with the practitioner conducting a detailed personal history (DPH) with the client. The purpose of the DPH is to elicit the root cause of the presenting problem and to identify any limiting beliefs the client may unconsciously hold. The practitioner then elicits the client’s values and begins guiding the client through their timeline with a series of structured visualization exercises. During these exercises negative trapped emotions release. Wrap up typically involves a debrief of discoveries gained through the process, discussion of any additional steps needed, and creation of a positive outlook with SMART goals. MER Sessions can last between 1 to 3 hours, depending on various factors. Full Breakthrough Sessions, a form of MER, typically last between 5 to 8 hours. These sessions are typically delivered across two consecutive days.

MER work is typically charged on a flat-fee basis regardless of the time it takes to complete the process. Pricing for MER interventions is separate from any coaching unless purchased as a part of a Thrive and Sustain bundle. Please confirm specifics with the office.


Ongoing coaching sessions will often be recommended when clients are clearing negative emotions as part of a goal that involves some degree of change. For example, clearing negative emotions to attract a suitable partner, lose weight, or release baggage around money to make more of it.

The purpose of coaching is to help develop and install new strategies for interacting with others to sustain the positive changes achieved in the MER treatment. Without coaching or an accountability partner of some sort, clients run the risk of resorting to the same old strategies, which can result in undoing the great work done in the Breakthrough Session.

If you are currently under the care of a therapist or other licensed professional, we will need a referral from them to work with you.

You may complete MER Treatment or Hypnosis with me while maintaining your relationship with your existing therapist, licensed professional, or coach. This may also serve as your accountability partner to help you sustain the changes you wish to make.


Hypnosis has distinct parts: pre-talk, during which the therapist works to help the client achieve a state of physical and mental relaxation; induction, in which the therapist encourages the client to go into a trance; deepener, in which the therapist leads the client into a deeper state of trance; therapy/hypnotic suggestions, comprised of the goals the client and therapist have agreed upon before the hypnosis; and awakening, in which the therapist suggests to the client that they awaken out of trance.

Hypnosis in the context of a Breakthrough Session involves the therapist collaborating with the client on the positive life changes the client wants to make. Once the therapist understands the client’s goals, they discuss specific actions that can be delivered to the client’s unconscious mind.

Because the suggestions during hypnosis bypass the conscious mind, they have a greater impact that manifests quicker than other therapy modalities delivered at the conscious level.
Hypnosis cannot override a person’s will. If a person does not want to do something, they will not do it.
We use a technique known as Parts Integration which helps you become fully congruent and decisive in a given area of your life before doing hypnotherapy. Hypnosis can then reinforce any goal achievement and action steps needed once the decision has been made.

Sleep consulting services involve a thorough intake process where I interview you to identify the most likely root causes of any sleep disturbances or sleep deprivation. We create a Sleep Blueprint customized to your lifestyle and combine best practice recommendations across sleep science, nutrition and fitness, sleep environment, and psychological well-being.

You may be asked to journal a week or two of sleep performance using the Sleep Blueprint. I recommend any additional interventions based on findings during our analysis, the initial interview, and the client’s sleep performance. Interventions are performed across four weeks as I monitor your sleep improvement.

I recommend that all clients go through the full intake process to unearth any other potential hidden causes of sleep deprivation. The process detects various factors that can delay or hinder sleep onset or lead to frequent awakenings. In addition, I will recommend and perform (if in scope) natural treatment solutions that can effectively resolve sleep barriers.

My process is designed to identify opportunities for a sleep study if needed. While I do not perform sleep studies, I am connected with specialists to whom I can refer you, who can perform sleep studies nationwide from the comfort of your home as needed.

One habit I love is being reflective, grateful, and intentional about forecasting achievements in my future.

Instead of keeping a traditional journal, I use the process described in The Gap and The Gain by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. It helps me channel my focus each day into what went well and be grateful for that instead of focusing on things that went wrong.
